How it works

The 14-day mechanic, in full. No black box.

AI answer engines cite the sources they retrieve from at answer time. We make your brand one of those sources for the topics that matter — and we measure the world before and after, so you can see it move. Here is every step.

The 14 days

  1. 01

    Intake call + baseline

    Day 1

A 30-minute call locks your 20-variation prompt battery — the exact questions your buyers type. Then we run the baseline: 20 prompts × 5 runs × 4 surfaces = 400 datapoints, every citation recorded and timestamped. A go/no-go gate follows: if fewer than half your prompts have a claimable or pitchable surface, we refund same-day rather than take the work.

  2. 02

    On-page rewrite

    Days 2–4

Your target page is rebuilt to the 2026 citation spec: 40–75 word self-contained answer chunks, BLUF openings, question-shaped headings, one original stat per section, FAQ/Article/Organization schema, 15+ linked entities, and a real freshness stamp.

  3. 03

    Entity scaffolding + third-party placement

    Days 5–10

We scaffold your brand in Wikidata (the lowest-cost, highest-leverage knowledge-graph signal) and align Crunchbase, LinkedIn and review-platform profiles. Then the killer move: we pitch earned inclusion on existing DR50+ 'Best X for Y' listicles already ranking for your prompt-cluster — the source LLMs over-index on.

  4. 04

    Re-crawl window

    Days 11–13

We resubmit the updated page via IndexNow and Search Console and wait 48–72 hours for the retrieval surfaces to pick up the changes before measuring again.

  5. 05

    Endline + evidence pack

    Day 14

We re-run the same 400-prompt battery and compare. You get the CSV, the dated transcripts of every AI answer, and a one-page report showing baseline vs endline per surface.

The measurement, in detail

The number on your dashboard is built from 400 real AI answers — and every one of them is on file.

20

Prompts

Co-written variations of the question your buyers ask — the locked, contractual definition of your topic.

Runs each

Every prompt is run five times per surface, because a single answer is noise. Repetition is how we read a real rate.

4

Surfaces

ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Claude — each measured independently, never collapsed to one number.

400

Datapoints

20 × 5 × 4, baseline and endline. Every run's full AI answer is stored as a dated transcript you can read.

A surface is only counted if its API key is live at scan time — a missing surface is reported as not-measured, never faked as a zero. We don't synthesise data, and we don't reuse a prior measurement's label — every scan is fresh and timestamped.

The four surfaces we target

We focus on the retrievalsurfaces — the ones that browse the live web at answer time, where a 14-day feedback loop is real. Base-model answers (no browsing) move on a multi-month retraining clock; we improve them but don't claim to control them.

ChatGPT Search

Browses the live web (Bing-backed) and cites the pages it reads. The largest retrieval surface — and the fastest to reflect new placements.

Perplexity

A retrieval-first answer engine that visits and cites multiple sources per query — fast to reflect new placements.

Google AI Overviews

Semantic retrieval over Google's index with an E-E-A-T filter. Increasingly cites beyond the classic top-10 organic results.

Claude (with web search)

Cites retrieved sources when browsing is on. A smaller but growing surface we measure alongside the others.

How you pay — the SCU model

You buy SCUs (Service Consumption Units) — one countable unit of delivered work — and draw them down across a fixed-price menu. Each module costs a set number of SCUs, so you always know what a piece of work takes from your balance. Spend across topics in any mix; unused SCUs roll over. The Growth package covers the full measurement cycle — baseline, all work, and endline.

The equation

pay = SCUs × rate

SCUs measure the work; your rate is set once for your account. One full topic-cycle is baseline → rewrite → entity → placement → endline → report.

Our commitment

We guarantee the measurement and the work — not a number we can't control.

The measurement
20 co-written prompts × 5 runs × 4 surfaces = 400 datapoints, baseline and endline, with the full dated transcripts of every AI answer — so the before-and-after is a recorded fact, not a feeling.
The work
On-page rewrite to the citation spec, Wikidata entity scaffolding, and earned placement on a DR50+ listicle already ranking for your prompt-cluster — the three levers that actually move citations.

We can't promise a specific citation result — nobody honestly can. AI answers change constantly and aren't in anyone's control. We promise the measurement is real and the work is done.

FAQ

What is AEO / GEO?+

Answer Engine Optimization (also called Generative Engine Optimization) is the practice of getting your brand cited and surfaced inside AI answers — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude — rather than just ranking in classic search results. GetCited is a done-for-you AEO service: we do the work and measure the movement.

How is this different from an AI-visibility tracking tool?+

Tracking tools observe whether you're cited; they don't do anything about it. GetCited does the work — on-page rewrite, entity scaffolding, third-party placement — and measures the movement. You get fulfilment plus proof, not a dashboard you have to act on yourself.

Can you guarantee I'll get cited?+

No — nobody honestly can. AI answers change constantly and aren't in anyone's control. What we guarantee is the measurement and the work: a real baseline, the full on-page rewrite, entity scaffolding, and listicle placement, then a re-measured endline with dated transcripts behind every number. The retrieval surfaces re-query the live web, so a 14-day feedback loop is real — but the citation result itself isn't something we or anyone else can promise.

What's an SCU?+

A Service Consumption Unit — one countable unit of delivered work. Each module (scan, on-page rewrite, entity build, placement, report) costs a fixed number of SCUs. You buy SCUs and draw them down across topics; unused SCUs roll over. What you pay is SCUs × your account rate.

What do I need to provide?+

The topic your buyers ask about and the page you want cited. We co-write the prompt battery with you and handle the rest — content, entity, placement, and measurement.

How long until I see results?+

The full cycle is 14 days from baseline to endline. The retrieval surfaces typically reflect changes within days of re-crawl; the endline report quantifies exactly how much moved.
