What's an SCU, and why we price the work — not the hours

Agencies bill you for time. A retainer is a bet on hours: you pay for the afternoon, whether or not the afternoon moved anything. We didn't want to sell afternoons. We wanted to sell citations — measurable movement in what AI engines say about you. So we price the work, not the clock.

The unit is an SCU — a Service Consumption Unit. One unit of delivered work. It decouples what you pay from how long the work happens to take us. A scan costs the same whether our runner finishes it in four minutes or forty.

The rate card

Every action GetCited performs has a fixed SCU price. The whole menu:

Why this is fairer

Three reasons we think outcome-pricing beats a retainer:

• You can't be billed for spinning wheels. An SCU only leaves your balance when a defined piece of work is delivered. No "we spent the month on it."
• You can buy exactly what you need. Just want measurement? Buy scans. Want the full cycle? Buy the cycle. Topics are independent — you're never locked into a 12-month bundle to get one page moving.
